I’ve just returned from a four day seminar for public speaking, titled “Move People to Action.” The seminar was about more than just public speaking; more like a business model to make public speaking successful.
I was struck a comment by one of the presenters, dismissing competition and promoting the idea of collaboration as the real ticket to get amazing things done.
I already was supportive of this thought before he made it. Everything from the pyramids to walking on the moon was achieved through many people working together. Even competitive sports and competitive corporations are in reality huge collaborative efforts. The idea drilled into us that we much compete to progress is misleading at best and at times harmful.
As a result of the seminar I need to put some careful thought into integrating all the pieces I have in place, including this blog. I’ll keep you posted.
Be Happy!
