This site refers to the Hiking Humanitarian in the singular, but in reality I am part of a team. I’ve been remiss in not introducing Team Humanity until now.
Team Humanity will spread a message across the country for people to believe in humanity. We strive only for causes we believe in; we need to believe in humanity and strive to help each other. We will cultivate this message through storytelling, song and the occasional potluck gathering.
Along the way we will interview humanitarian doers and thinkers across the country and provide that content to you. Churchill once said: “To win the end one must know the end.” If we are to win the end of a more humane world we need to know what engages the humane instincts within us.
A husband and wife team, Kirk and Cindy Sinclair, are walking 5,000 miles along the American Discovery Trail to achieve this mission. Ky Byrne supports this endeavor throughout the entire journey by providing us the supplies we need and scouting out the local communities we will pass through. Terri Holtz will use social media to spread our message further.
Lions Clubs across the country are a part of Team Humanity as well. There are more than 45,000 Lions Clubs in communities across the world, all of them dedicated to humanitarian causes. We collaborate with them to engage audiences in our Believe in Humanity message.
All together we are engaged in something wonderful. We intend to do a good job of sharing this wonderful experience with you.
