Distance = 15 Miles; People Met = 4
All the people we met were at the campground where we stayed at the end of the day; more on them in a bit. The past few posts have been pictures I’ve taken and combined with digital audio I record while on the trail. I’m trying to make this web site as interesting as I can, which involves a few electronic tools. I fit all my electronic equipment, and more, inside my Mountainsmith camera bag.
Going counterclockwise from the top: earphone and connector for the ipod; cell phone charger; ipod; spare batteries; two back-up rechargeable camera batteries; camera batter recharger; back-up camera memory card; flip video recorder; digital audio recorder and cable; “wallet;” compass; and cell phone. Omitted from the picture are my Nikon P500 camera and a permanent magic marker. My “wallet” contains my business cards, credit cards and some loose change.
The campground where we stayed had no water, which led us to Gordon who enthusiastically provided us some. Gordon was holding down the fort while his whole extended family was soon to arrive, some to hunt, some to hike. Gordon was an Eagle Scout who grew up in Colorado and now a farrier living in Morrison. He knew quite a bit about the habits of cougars which he gladly shared with us.
On the way back to our own camp we ran into father (Ron) and son (Joel) bow hunters from Tennessee and Kentucky, respectively. Ron asked if I was supported and I of course started telling him about Ky. It turns out he was asking if I was supported by Jesus.
Bob was our neighbor at the campground who came over to ask if we needed water. We ran into him again later, so I’ll provide more details then.
