Before the journey started I was contacted by Marcia Powers, part of the wife and husband team that were the first people to achieve the Grand Slam, which is the Triple Crown plus the American Discovery Trail. In other words, they’ve already done what we are about to do over the next year. Marcia invited us to stay with her and Ken.
They were generous with their home and with information. We were very, very fortunate to have this happen near the start of our journey.
