Day 004 – 5/28/11 – Ferry Terminal to Inspiration Point

Distance = 23 miles (7 via ferry); Elevation changes > 2600 feet
Lo Elevation = 3; Hi Elevation = 1799

I conducted my first interview with Dennis Hale, President of the Castro Lions Club and manager of the Hayes Valley Inn where we stayed.  I’ll have a page for interviews eventually.

We got a late start because we did not know the weekend ferry schedule to get across the East Bay.  We spent a good bit of time at the Farmers Market by the ferry terminal, a vibrant happening place.  Once we got started hiking the rain started in again as well.

Backpackers are used to traversing several natural life zones during a long ascent or descent.  We traversed several cultural life zones on our fourth day.
