I was contacted on my Facebook page to spread the word about a hike for inner-city kids. This hits close to home for me. I once founded a nonprofit that grouped together kids from single-parent homes with young adults on five week wilderness trips. I could only run the program a couple years because my funding was limited, but I know full well the benefits such programs provide for disadvantaged youth.
